Corrugated Case Types

OK International's packaging machinery can handle a wide variety of corrugated RSC cases. Corrugated boxes are popular because of their strength and because they can be produced in high volumes very quickly and easily.

The type of box you use will depend on the industry you are in and the product your produce. The most common box used in packaging is the Regular Slotted Case (RSC). This box features two major flaps, which run the length of the box, and two minor flaps at each end.

Regular Slotted Case (RSC)

Produced in bulk, it is the most cost effective style of case. The major flaps overlap the minor flaps when folded. The longer the box, the less overlap exists among the flaps. The more square the box is, the more overlap exists. The overlap adds to the strength of the box, however the flaps of an RSC box can also be cut away to save on material.

Half Slotted Case (HSC)

The HSC consists of flaps on one end, and open on the other. This style with a lid, is a combination of a shipping case, opening to a shelf storage unit. The HSC is used commonly within the fruit industry.

Polybag-in-Box Decuffer Sealer Closer

The Supercloser SC500 automatically un-cuffs a filled polybag in a box, clear of the case flaps, stretches the bag or re-folds gussets, tamps out excess air and heat seals the bag within the dimensions of the case to protect the product.

The Supercloser SC500 handles up to 12 cases per minute. Standard features of this machine include: Stainless steel finish, tamps out excess air, heavy duty design and fully interlocking guarding.

Polybag-in-box Decuffer Folder Closer

OK International supplies a reliable and durable bag decuffer folder closer. The Supercloser SC400 automatically un-cuffs a filled polybag in a box, clear of the case flaps, opens the side flaps and folds the polybag into a neat two-way fold within the dimensions of the case to protect the product.

Features of the Bag Closer Include:

Case Taper with Pack Station

The Supertaper ST1X is a top and bottom case sealer with extended side belts and an integrated case forming and pack station.  The machine provides an efficient and ergonomic solution for the forming, packing and sealing of RSC cases.  The machine is also available without a top structure, making it suitable for semi-automatic case forming and bottom taping.

Semi-Automatic Case Sealer

Hot Melt Case Erector

The Superformer SF1-HM is an Automatic Hot-Melt Case Erector.  This hot melt case erector erects corrugated cases and closes the bottom flaps with hot-melt glue.  Unique features of this machine include stainless steel exterior finish, automatic case squaring system, easy size change, case monitoring and display with fualt finding indications.
